THE BREMEN, HER CAPTURE REPORTED. SAID TO BE AT ROSYTII. Reuter's Telegrams. WASHINGTON. October 1. The Department of State is advised that tho British have captured the submarine Bremen, and toWed it to Rosyth. ( CAUGHT IN A NET. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. NEW YORK, October 1. According to advices received at Washington, the Bremen was captured in a British not, and is now held in Scotland. The report states that t tho submarine was scon at Rosyth three weeks ago. Undersea nets are a hundred yards long and sixty deep, and two bombs are attached to'each. STEAMERS SUNK. NEUTRAL BOATS CAPTURED. “ The Times ” Sorvioe. (Received October 3, 12.55 a.m.) LONDON. October 2. The British steamers Pearl and William George, and the Norwegian
steamer Emanuel have boen sunk. Tbo Norwegian steamer Robert Lea, two I>utch tugs and two lighters have been captured and taken to Zeebrugge. INTERNED VESSELS. ESCAPE FROM DUTCH HANDS. Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association. (Received October 2, 7.35 p.m.) ROTTERDAM, October 2. Since March 3 thirty-three interned Austro-German vessels have escaped. Usually they put to sou in darkness, remaining as far as possible in territorial waters* and voyaging towards Germany. They have removed their masts and thus are less visible to the British patrols. ALLIED COURIERS. ANXIETY CONCERNING THEIR FATE. V (Received October 2, 11.50 p.m.) AMSTERDAM, October 2. Anxiety is felt for the safety of the Belgian and British couriers, who were seized aboard the Prinz Hendrik. It is roported that they are detained in Bruges prison and awaiting trial on a charge of destroying their letter bags. Russian and French couriers taken in Germany, and English and Russians were crammed in goods trucks and brutally treated, travelling in barges.
