SHEARERS' DEMANDS.

[Pes Press Association.] HASTINGS, September 30,

At a largely attended meeting of the Hawke's Bay Sheepowners' Union this morning, to consider the action of the shearers in demanding increased rates for the coming season, the following resolution was carried:—"That this meeting is of the opinion that the re commendation of the Sheepfarmers Federation of paying 20s per 100 and 2s 6d war bonus should be adopted> and! desires to enter a strong protest against' the action of certain shearers' unions in demanding rates far in excess of the award, as this action tends in great, measure to set aside all awards agreed upon by both parties."
