THE ROWING SEASON.
TO BE OPENED ON OCTOBER 21. At a meeting of delegates held on Wednesday evening to fix the opening date of tho boating season, it was decided to hold the function on Saturday, October 21. It was decided that all the' proceeds should bo handed to some patriotic fund, such fund to ho decided upon at the next meeting. There will bo the usual procession of boats at 2.-15, and afterwards there will bo races on the river. Special prizes will be offered for the beet decorated Jboat,.._.tho. ...most original, crew and the best darktown crew in the procession. Tho various chibs nro providing afternoon tea af their respective sheds, for which' a small charge will bn made. * Tho following officers were appointed: Commodore, Mr N.' L. Macbeth; marshal, Hr h\ .D. Kesieven: starter, Mir H. Lake; judge, Mr It. E. Nightingale; judges of be3t decorated boals, Mr and Mrs A. E. Craddock: judees of most original crews, Mr and Mrs 11. H. Smith; judges of best darktown crew, Mr and Mrs J. It. Evans. Iff tho evening a flannel danco will be held by the various clubs.
