CITY AND "SUBURBAN ASSOCIATION. ' AMALGAMATION OFFER DECLINED. The proposal that the Canterbury Cricket Association and' the City and Suburban Cricket , Association; should' combine for the coming season was discussed last evening, it ".a special meeting' of tho latter body. ’Mr; E, Andrews presided over, a iair attendance. -i - . • ■ , The chairman, referring to tho recent conference between delegates’* of the two associations, said that it had improved the good feeing, mutually existing. Personally, he was not antagonistic to tho Canterbury Association. . > - ■. • lSje< Bnscand said that he favoured somo form of amalgamation with the other association, but he did nSt think the Suburban As-* .sociation players- shoiifd have to pay double •the rent for the grounds. It seemed necessary to have two classes of players if amaigamation.camo about. Considerable. - discussion followed on fho question, of .finance and grounds, and finally it was agreed on the motion, of Mr Rix, seconded by Mr Matson, that the'City and Suburban Competitions should continue its competitions as before. . It was furthor agreed to send a letter of thanks to the,Canterbury Association for L its utter of co-operatipn. ST ALBANS GUILD CRICKET CLUB. The annual meeting of the St Albans Guild ' Cricket Club was" held last week. Mr A. Neato presiding. f The- rbort and balance-sheet was adopted. . Officers were elected as follow:—President, -Mr J. W. H. Francis; vice-presidents, Messrs VV. J. N,eate, sen., P. L.- Davies, S. Faulkner, J. W, Beanland and C. Spicer; club' captain, Mr ’A. Xeate; honorary secretary, Mr C. J. M. Winter; delegates to association, Messrs A. . Neato and W., Thomson; : committeo, Messrs W. .Thomson, J. Stewart, A. Neate, P. "Winter and H. Carter; selectors, Messrs A.
