PUBLIC MEETING AFTER NEXT
CONFERENCE
Mr G. L Donaldson secretary to tho Christchurch Beautifying Association, has received the following letter from the Town Clerk regarding tho proposals for the beautifying of Cathedral Square:—• . “I am directed by his Worship the Mayor to acknowledge receipt of your letter of September 22 in reference to the calling of a public meeting regarding the beautifying of Oathedral Square. In reply lam to inform you that the Mayor has seen the Tramway Board on the matter, and, as the board will be ready to submit its proposals shortly, it is thought inadvisable to call the public meeting until these proposals have been considered by the conference.”
