TROUBLE AT BROKEN HILL.

At Broken Hill two men were fined for abusive language at an anti-con-scription meeting. A crowd made a demonstration at the Court House and rushed tho police station, which they bombarded with stones. The police charged with batons and dispersed tho crowd. Later the Court House was attacked. (Received September 26, 10.35 p.m.) SYDNEY, September 26. Tho police report that the situation at Broken Hill is normal.

LABOUR'S ATTITUDE.

MELBOURNE, September 26

The Australian Workers' Union executive has passed a motion to oppose conscription by lawful means, and undertaking during the campaign not to join any general strike.
