THE WAR TRADE. UNITED STATES EXPORTS. BIG INCREASES. Australian and N.ifi. Cable Association. NEW YORK, September 12. There has been an enormous increase in United States snipments of meat to Europe. Figures for the fiscal year 1916 were 1,339,000,000 pounds weight, compared with 885,000,000 last year and -155,000,000 in 1914. An official report says that Canada’s exports of meat have increased five times sinco the war began, and there a e also great increases in Argentine and Australian exports. The exports of refined sugar ' for seren months of 1916 were more than a billion pounds, valued at 60,000,000 dollars. The figures exceed the aggregate of the previous twenty-five years, ann the exports were mostly to Europe. United States importations of raw sugar are expected to total 5,000,000 pounds.
