DEATH FROM POISONING. (Per Press Association.j DUNEDIN, September 1. An inquest on the body of Mrs M’Robie was held at Mosgiel to-day. Evidence showed that deceased and her husband got on well, except when she took drink. On such occasions she became hysterical, and often threatened suicide. Hex husband remonstated with her on Wednesday morning, asking her to stop drinking. After asking her husband to “ shout, ’ as it was his birthday, 'deceased went to the scullery. A few minutes later her husband followed, and found her taking a cup from her lips after drinking poison. Medical aid was secured, hut she died after midnight. The coroner returned a verdict of death from syncope, due to poisoning. RAILWAY PORTER KILLED. [Per Press association.] WELLINGTON, September 1. While shunting at Lambtou Station this morning a porter named Alfred James Barber, aged nineteen, fell between two loaded waggons. His left leg was badly smashed.
