THE AURORA.

WORK SUSPENDED. [From Our Correspondent.] DUNEDIN, August 31. Repairing operations in connection with the Antarctic vessel Aurora, at Port Chalmers were suspended this morning. Instructions were issued on Wednesday by the committee of .supervision to reduce the number of men hitherto employed on the vessel as the major portion of the -repairs had been done. Before the vessel came out of dock a few days ago about seventy men had been employed. Some half of these were notified that their services -were not further required. This, apparently, did not cause any difficulty, but trouble arose when tho other half declined to proceed with tho completion of the repairs unless a change in inspection took place. Work was accordingly suspended.
