WAR PENSIONS.
THE BOARD’S OPERATIONS. Tho Muir Pensions Board held a sittin" in Christchurch yesterday, when it considered ten applications. It left for Wellington last night. It now has sat in nil parts of tho Dominion except Nelson and the W est Coast. Date's for sittings in those places have not vet been fixed. During tho South Island tour, 332 applications were considered. Most of tho applications were made by soldiers who had been granted temporary pensions and those whose pensions were about to expire. The board decided to continue call pensions asked for, but in most cases at a reduced rate. One applicant was informed that his pension would' cease at the end of tho present period, as the board considered that ho had practically regained his normal state of health. In one instance the pension was considerably reduced, and tlio applicant was informed that the payments would cease at the end of the period.
