The New South Wales Cabinet has decided on absolute Bix o’clock closing of hotels, making it an offence for the iicensco to sell soft drinks after hours, and suspending the local option vote. BRISBANE, August 31. The Legislative Council has passed tho Six o’clock Closing of Hotels Bill through all stages, as a war emergency measure. Tho Government representative opposed the measure. SOLDIERS’ VOTES. SYDNEY, August 31. For next elections the electoral law is to be amended to allow soldiers abroad to vote by proxy nominated by themselves. Proxy forms will be issued and returned in time for the elections. MINERS’ STRIKE SETTLED. PERTH, August 31. Tho miners’ dispute at Kalgoorlio has been settled. The men have agreed to submit tho question of whether the men who were tho cause of tho striko are aliens to a special tribunal.
