THE BAGDAD REGION. TURKISH ATTACKS REPULSED. PETROGRAD, Juno 26. A communique says:— We repulsed many Turkish night attacks in the Trebizond sector. BOMBAY, June 26 Indian Moslems are watching the action of the Grand Slierif in Mecca and the Arabs with intense interest, and many are delighted at the news, hoping that the Grand Sherif will be able to ensure the safety of pilgrims,, which, has grown! more perilous with the Young Turks’ misgovermnent. Indian Moslems respect Islam’s temporal power more than the Caliph’s spiritual authority. GRAND SHERIF’S TACTICS. CAIRO, June 26. The Grand Sherif’s troops have cut the telegraphs, and have also rooted up the Hejaz railway , and destroyed the stations for 150 kilometres north ‘to prevent Turkish reinforcements arriving.
