HORORATA SOLDIERS.
ROLL OF HONOUR UNVEILED. There was a large attendance at .the Hororata Hall on Friday evening, when a social gathering was held to unveil a roll of honour and to make presentations to departing soldiers. Mr T. E Pearson, chairman :>f the Hororata Patriotic Committee, piosidcd. After an address by the chairman, Mrs T. B. Jones made 'a btief speech' and then unveiled the board presented by Mr T. B. Jones. The audience stood whilst the names upon tho Honours Foard was read ss lollows:—Lieutenant A. H. Wright, Sergeant C. Harris. E C. Beck, F. D. jiuss, J. 11. Palmer, H. Inch, A. L. L. Brown, E. F Croplev, G. A. Bruce, J. Lukies, P. Carrol, \V. E. Page, It. GKeith, 11. Ballagh, W Brown, S. Ba lagh, E. Cunneen, F. Tizzard, T. J. Bunion, J. H. Crump, A. E. PollardCheers werq given for'tho troops and for Mrs Jones.
The Mayor of Christchurch (Mr H. 11. Holland) delivered an address on the war. after which ho presented a wristlet watch each to Corporal J- Harrison and Privates E. A. Gray, G. Chapman, J. Napier and D. Phillips, of the Fifteenth Reinforcements. Private I) Philips was also presented with a pair of military hair brushes and a soldier's -riHng outfit, the gift of tho Hororata bachelors ■ . f'nntrihut-'vl bv Miss Hob land (of Christchurch), Mrs Pollard and Messrs Ironsides, Milroy, Booby (Christchurch). Votes of thinks were passed to tlw Mayor of Christchurch, to Mr Poskitt and all who had assisted to make the evening so successful
