With the idea of beautifying the trans-harbour settlement at Diamond liarbour, Mr O. Hunter, of Church Bay, wrote to the Lyttelton Borough Council last night offering to provide one thousand New Zealand native shrubs, varying front, two inches-to two and a half feet, provided the council undertook the planting of them. The council decided to accept the gift, and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded tlr Hunter for his donation.
