The competition for o, puiv of curtains was won by Air H. 11. Alilne. The depot is very short of fruit and vegetables and supplies in any quantity will "bo gratefully received. LITTLE RIVER. Tho annual meeting of the Little River Red Cross branch was held in tine Publ.c Library on Thursday, Airs J. F. Buchanan presiding over a, largo attendance of ladies. The. secretary react a report of tho past year’s work, which showed the steady growth of tho society. Tun whole of the money, £l2O, expended on wool and garment materials during the year hr.a been laired by donations from residents, concerts and grants from tho local Patriotic Society. The secretary also reporied that a grant of XIS had been made to ike local Red Cross branch by the Little River Patriotic. Society for tho month of June. /The report was adopted. On the motion of Airs Gilbert, seconded by Mrs Ferguson, it was unanimously decided that the old committee should be re elected.
On ihe motion of Mrs Gilbert, seconded by Mrs Guldens, it was decided that Mrs Wynn Williams should be elected to the committee as a repuscututivc of tho Okuti Valiev. After further votes of thanks to the donors of pi ft s during the 5 ear, afternoon tea was haudtd round and the usual v.ork meeting followed. WILLOWBY. At the monthly meeting of the Willowby branch of the Ked Cross Society tho treasurer presented the balance-sheet, which shewed the lcceipts as £IDD Da (id. The expenditure wus £B6 2s B(d' for material and £5 donation to Iho French Bed Cross, leading a credit balance of £lO6 Us Did. SOUTHBKOOK. Tbo Southbrook brancTi of tlio Ked Cross Society held a sooitl afternoon on Thursday, in tho Methodist Sunday Schoolroom. The Rev J. Guy pres.dod. Vocal items were contributed bv Mesdames J. T. Withers, C. Sayers, E. Trollope, Miss Guy and Mr Guy, and a recitation by Mrs Ayers. Thore was a good number present. Mrs Archer, soar., thanked nil who had helped to make tho function a success. About £2 2s was added to the society's funds.
