QUESTION OF SHOP HOURS.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, —According to your issue of tho 101$ instant, a shopkeeper was charged with selling tobaeofon June 2. 'As reported, Mr Bailey remarked in giving judgment, " that the man who clti&ed on Saturday got no late night.M This, however, is contrary to the provisions of the Shops and Oiiices Factory Act. It is important to retailors and to the public generally that the judgment of a magistrate be explicit and not give rise to uneasiness on the part of thoso who already have to be a kind of bush lawyer to comply with the various Acts of Parliament affecting them.—l am, B °'' , SHOPKEEPER.
