Misses England. Scott and Kier; Phillipstown, Misses "Willis, Brown and Graham. A proposal was made that Miss facott should be sent to Phillipstown so as to provide that kindergarten with a teacher who had completed her course of lectures. Miss Jones" wan appointed head mistress of Sunbeam, with Misses Brown, Scott "and Simpson as assistants, and Misses lerrv, Kior and Rutherford as probationers ■ A report was received from Mr Gill on his recent inspection of tho schools. Tho ™" port was considered very satisfactory. the following is an extract:'—" These- kindergartens nro well managed. • Tho teachers are patient, painstaking and full of womanly sympathy; they are facing the problems that meet them, and are endeavouring to solve them in- an intelligent manner. Mr Oil! also drew attention to an excellent sketch ot Phillipstown of a harvest field, and a good exemplification of the harvest in tho sand tray. He also remarked on the good music at that school. Ho had heard some good story work, "Tho Return of Persephone, at tho Sydenham Kindergarten. The socre'arv was asked to write and congratulate Miss" Hull on the success of tho examirtations. , Tho reports from the three schools wero read and adopted. Tho average attendances during tho month were a 3 follow:—Sydenham, 46.7; Sunbeam, 41; Phillipstown, 37. n. Mothers' subscriptions amounted *o £5 lis 2Jd. Miss Cocks road a short financial report. The following donations had been received: —Messrs Bourko, Wilson and Co. £5 os, Mrs Rooko .-Sj, Mrs S. Wilson £4 4s, Messrs Newburgh and Best £'3 3a, Anonymous £2 2s. A lettor was received from tho Education Department stating that a voucher for £76 10s had been paid into tho Bank of New South "Wale 3, being capitation payment for children attending tho following kindergartens: —Sydenham £2B 10s, Sunbeam £26. Phillipstown £22. • Mrs Peppier reported having held a sale of work at Sydenham, or. May ■'!, tho proceeds of which amounted to nearly £3O. Mrs Chilian slated that everything was arranged for the sale the local committee intended to hold at Sunbeam on May 27.
