'.•CAUGHT IX THRESHING MILL
On Monday evening Mr J. .J. Matthews. of Matthews Bros., fanners and threshing machine proprietors. Rangiora, met with an accident, which resulted in the loss of his left arm. He was engaged at the firm's threshing mill on Mr H. Benje’s farm, Sprin'gbank, and' was adjusting a. belt when his arm was caught and was so badly broken and mangled that it had to be amputated just below, the elbow. Dr Will performed the operation at Brocklehurst private hospital, Rangiora. * ROUND HANGED. [Per Press Association.] INVERCARGILL, February 22. Henry Hodgson, ; aged-• thirty, unmarried, a farm hand, of Winton, was' found hanged in a c'owshed this morning. He had lately been in illhealth. DEATH FROM BLOOD-POISONING. Aloore. a member of the Thirteenth Reinforcements, died at Trent ham military hospital, yesterday; Death is. supposed to bo due to bloodpoisoning contracted while engaged in his occupation as a painter.
