THE UGANDA BORDER. FIGHT WITH GERMAN FORCES. The High Commissioner reports:— LONDON, February 21.
On February 18 an enemy force of four Europeans and 200 natives attacked Kachumbe on the. Uganda border. T\vo Europeans and thirty-five natives drove them off. The enemy loss was four Europeans and fifty-three natives, a machine gun, forty-five rifles and a quantity of ammunition. Our casualties were nil.
THE CAMEROONS. GERMAN COMMANDER'S MES- .' i . SAGE. "Timei" «nd RvdneT ! Snn" ServiM*. LONDON, February 21. A report issued by the Press Bureau states that General Dobell, commander of the British forces in the Cameroons, telegraphed on Thursday that the Gov-ernor-General of Fernando To had asked him to telegraph Dr Solf, German Colonial Secretary, informing the German Government of the evacuation of the colony.
The German commandant's message says. ""Want of munitions compels me to" leave the protectorate and cross into Spanish territory with all troops and staff."
the -German troops began to crosii the frontier on the evening of, February 4. Negotiations as to the details of internment are uot yet completed.
