GIFT OF PICTURES.

-TO THE BRISTOL PIANO COM-' PANT. In the windows of The, Bristol Piano Company, Christchurch, there are several artistic photographs of the City of Bristol, England. The pictures were presented to Mr D. H. Thoomin, chairman of the company, by civic associations and authorities of Bristol. Mr Thoomin is a native of Bristol, and the gift is a. compliment to him and a mark of the, esteem in which he is held' in his native city. The photographs bear the signatures of the donors and a few words expressing best wished for The Bristol Piano Company's success. A line picture of St Augustine's Centre was donated by the president of the Bristol Chamber of Commerce, tha photograph of the famous Clifton Suspen.sion Bridge was sent by the High Sheriff, dock views were, the gift of the Avonmouth Dock Committee, while photographs of the* old Roman Baths and Bath Abbey Church were donated by the Mayor and citizens of Bath. The photographs are particularly interesting in view of the enterprise which is°being shown in the ancient city in reorganising and developing the advantages it possesses for~commerce., v It is worthy of mention that it was from Bristol that the first regular line of steamships ran from Britain to America. ■
