LADY LIVERPOOL FUND.
WORK AT THE. DEPOT. Packing is being pushed vigorously ahead at the Ladv Liverpool depot. Thirty-Six cases were packed and sent away this week. Thev contained the usual khaki handkerchiefs, bundles of socks, jam. condensed milk, soap, writing pads, and so on. There has been tc most generous response to the appeal for jam and chutney. Six hundred tin? were sent in Ivy Marshland alone. This is being soldered down, and will be sent away as soon as possible. The work of the depot has increased to such an extent that it has been found necessary to move, to larscr premises. A shop, No. (341, Colombo street, has been taken, and it is now being got ready, find the removal will take place when the March shipment is completed. Some misapprehension still appears to exist as to the destination of these gifts. The committee would like to point out that the goods received at the Cbristcburch depot are exclusiveh' for tho Canterbury men at the frout. The Wellington committee works for the Wellington battalion, the Auckland committee for the Auckland mon, and the Dunedin committee for the Otago men.
Socks, especially hand-knitted ones, are not coming in in sufficient guantiiies to complete tho necessary parcels. Will knitters kindly take' note?
