VETERANS' ASSOCIATION.

The executive committee of the Vetel ans' Association met in the association's rooms on Saturday evening. The vice-president. Lieutenant FT. S. Newman, presided over a full attendance. Three new members were elected. A resolution was carried protesting against the action of the Patriotic Fund Committee in granting the CDC. the sum of £SOO to build an hostel for the returned soldiers. Members stated that only a little time ago the association had approached the Patriotic Fund Committee for a grant towards furnishing the convalescent home for returned soldiers at North New Brighton and the committee had refused tho application. Reference was also made to the fact that at a meeting of the representatives of the Veterans' Fund Committee and the Patriotic Fund Committee, the latter emphatically stated that there was no need for money to be raised for the purpose for a home of any kind. It was decided to forward a copy of the resolution to the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Patriotic Fund Committee.
