COUNTY COUNCILS.
AMURI. At the monthly meeting of the Amuri County Council there were present—Messrs 11. It.' Davison, B. Hampton, F. S. Xcrthccto and L. J. Pulley. In the absence of die chairman, Mr Xovthcote, was voted to the chair. The L"nder-Secretarv oi the Public Works Department forwarded a copy of, “Gazette"’ notice showing proclamation ot road exchange in Lot 12, Aaiuati Settlement. Ratepayers again complained of wanderingstack on Balmoral roads, and stated that .ili cases the stock were breaking down fences and destroying crops. After disesussion, at was decided to take action against all owners whose stock was found wandering in the locality. The majority of business people, being in favour of Wednesday as the half-holiday for the year, it was declared the statutory clcsimr day by the council. Owing to complaints as" to shortage of water in races through Urn races not being cleaned, it was decided that an inspection should be made and the bjlaws strict!'- enforced. The receipts tor the month amounted to £ll6 Is Bd, and accounts amounting to £3l-1 19e lOd were passed lor payment.
