INTERCOLONIAL HOLIDAY TRAFFIC. In connection with the approaching holiday season, the Union Company has made the following alterations in the intercolonial service:— The Moeraki will leave Hobart on Friday, December 24, instead of Saturday, Deoember 25. She will leave Sydney on Thursday, December 80. The Manuka will leave Wellington for Lyttelton on Tuesday, December 21, instead of Monday, December 20. The Mokoia will leave Melbourne on Tuesday, December 14, Hobart December 16, Bluff December 20, Dunedin December 21 and Lyttelton December 92. She will reach Wellington on Thursday, December 23, and return to Lyttelton as extra ferrysteamer, leaving Lyttelton finally on Monday, December 27, for Melbourne, via Wellington.

- SHIPPING NOTES. Mr Maxwell has joined the Kini a* third engineer, iu place of Mr Wraine, who will lign on the Mamoa. After an uneventful passage, the Chatham Island Fishing Company’s Himitangi returned to port yesterday afternoon. She had on board 660 sheep and 90 bales of wool. In order to lift further cargo, she will return to the island at 6 p.m. to-day. A Press Association telegram from Wellington states that the Jackson Head light was put in order yesterday. The barque Antiope was taken alongside tho wharf at Wellington yesterday for overhaul, preparatory to going to sea again. The Wairuna. which arrived at Wellington from San Francisoo yesterday, brought 8256 tons of cargo for discharge at Wellington, including large consignments of Californian dried fruits for the Christmas trade, elso 30,000 cases of oil and '» large deck cargo of Island fruit. Under charter to the New Zealand Shipping Company, the steamer Waiwera left Montreal on November 24 for Australian and Now Zealand ports. She should reach Lyttelton about the middle of February. The ex-French barque Tridouia, which left Sydney lest week for Astoria, with 1750 tons of coal, shipped by Messrs Lane and Dawson, baa been fixed to load wheat at Portland, Oregon, for the United Kingdom or Continent n,t the rate of 60s per ton, December loading; if February loading, 77s 6d per ■ ton. Cable advice has been received stating that the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's liner Tainui has sailed from London for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She should reach Lyttelton about the middle of January. The Tainui will call first at Wellington, to land her passengers. The Union Steam Ship Company's Mokoia, which arrived in Lyttelton yesterday from Melbourne, rfa ports, brought transhipments ex the steamers Australian, Onda, Tasman, Zelandia end Rooyoy, the principal lines being the following:—2s cases glass, 8 casks cream of tartar, 10 barrels sulphur, 124 bags cocoa, 327 packages tea, 84 cases desiccated cocoanut, 62 cases nails, 92 packages wine, 1203 bags salt, 5 cases macaroni, 80 casks glucose, 2SO bags rice, 1584 pieces oak, 1200 bags phosphates, 45 boxes tobacco, 150 bags onions, 40 barrels oil, 128 caßes tinware, 42 cases muriatic acid, 12 cases tiles, 8 cases separators, 24 cases plumbago and 237 bags bark, and a large quantity of sundries. Mr D. F. Smith has succeeded Mi Dowling as second offioer of the Whangape. Mr Butter, chief officer of the Koraata, has gone ashore, and Mr Dee, late second officer, has been promoted. Mr W. R. Percy, late of the Makura, has joined the Maori as third officer, in place of Mr H. E. Schmidt, who has transferred to the Komat® as second. The Kamo®a was bar-bound at Greymouth ▼esterday evening, and iu consequence her departure for Lyttelton is indefinitely delayed. Liverpool. The gross tonnage of the steamer is 4056 tons, and her dead weight capacity is about 6069 tons. She has passenger accommodation for about 100 passengers ot three classes, and was built at Port Glasgow in 1900. Her principal dimensions are: Length, 310 ft; breadth, 44ft; depth 26ft 7in.
