" A slaughtering license was granted last night to the Christchurch Meat Freezing Company iu connection with the establishment of new works hero, tenders for which will bo called within a fortnight. The directors decided' to inciucio a preserving plant iu the works. The machinery has already been ordered from Home. M'Lcan and Co.'s tender has been accepted by the company for the erection of on 800 feet jetty from the works. at which produce will be lorded into lighters for transhipment to Home boats.
