LINWOOD RUGBY LEAGUE CLUB. the annual meeting of the Linwood Rugby League Foot-ball Club will .«» held at the Eastern Hotel to-morrow evening at eight o’clock.
CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. Th" torty-eignth annual general meeting of the Christchurch Football Club was held lust night, Mr John Anderson being in the choir. i Tho report stated that .forty- two members of the club had enlisted for active service. The membership ’ now stood at la life, ygy active and 12 country members an increase of five active and six country members on the previous year’s figures. Rogrot was expressed at. tho death of two leading members, Messrs' R. Vincent and H. Cannon A tribute was paid to th® Red and Black Association for its work during the year. The balance-sheet showed receipts tots.ling £9l 2b Bd, and an expenditure of £B2 2s Bd. The assets amounted to £44, and the liabilities 2s bd.
Tho report and balance-sheet- were adopted. Messrs \V. JV Walter, C. F. Smith and D. Hoare were elected life - members of th* club.
Officers were elected as follows:—President, Mr John Anderson; vice-presidents, Messrs J. R, Evans, J. S. Middleton, N. L. Macßeth, T. L. Cowliehaw and D. Hoare; captain, Mr C. S. M’Cully; deputy-captain, Mr C. H. Stonyer; lion secretary, Mr H. R, T. Spanner; lion treasurer, Mr T. H. Williams; assistant bon secretary Mr N. Bum?! assistant hon treasurer, Six' E. V. A motion’was passed- placing, on record' the clubs appreciation of the eevvioes ren-* aered to football during the pa-t twentvfive years bv Mr G-. H. Mason, the retiring, president of the Canterbury Rugby Union.., It was decided to open the season on Saturday week.
