In the House of Commons Mr Asquith said ho regretted that tho Welsh members of the House of Commons had not consulted the Church regarding the Compromise Bill, which afforded an equitable modus vivendi but there was hope of securing general assent. The second reading was postponed till after Easter.

In fcbe House of Commons Welsh members made a heated attack ou the Government for assenting to the new Bill.
Mr Lloyd George replied praising the work Welsh Churchmen were doing towards raising a Welsh division. Their whole energies wero absorbed by the war and it was impossible to ask them to collect money for other purposes.
