WIMMERA, FROM MELBOURNE. - The Huddart-Parkcr Company’s Wimmera, which arrived in Lyttelton yesterday from Melbourne, via ports, brought transhipments ex the steamer Mongolia, Orsova, Tysla, Itygge, and Katoomba, tho following being! the principal line*: —s4o bags rice. 23 cases walnuts, 5 cases macaroni, 4 cases tobacco, 1 case oil of lemon, 115 cases sulphuric acid, 3 bags plumbago, 72 bags bark 78V bags superphosphate. 390 packages tea, 17 pieces bluestone, 40 bags rice, 10 bales hessian., 6 case.* essence, 46 boxes fish, 15 esses grapes, 22 bogs extract, 20 cases glucose, 50 drums oil, 6fi coils coir yarn, 21 cases desiccated coconut, 4 bags cocoa, 2 bale® gunnies, 1 case, solder, large quantify of rubber and cycle goods and sundries.

EASTER TIME-TABLE. For the convenience of the travelling public, a number of alterations are announced in connection with the Easter holidays. In addition to those already made, the following has boon arranged for:—The Monowai will leave Wellington on Tuesday, March 30, lor Lyttelton, but will remain here until Good Friday. She will then go on to Wellington and northern ports. The Tarawera will leave Dunedin on Maroh 23 for Lyttelton, and will depart the following day fo» Wellington and northern ports. The Mokoia will leave Sydney on Apnl 1 for Wellington, being due at the New Zealand port on April 5.

SHIPPING NOTES. En route liomt 'Liverpool to Now Zealand porta, the Shaw,' Bavin and Albion Company's liner Kumars, sailed from bydney at 5 p.m. on, Thursatey, and should reach Auckland to-morrow. After completing discharge of her cargo at the nortcem port the vessel will come on to Wellington and Lyttelton.

As a consequence of tho shortage of atcamerß, it' is announced that the American end Australian Lin© has made arrangements for tho chartering of live soiling vessels to load at New York for Australia and Now Zea.and.

In connection with tho sailings of tho Federal and Shire Lino steamers irom Liverpool to New Zealand, and the subsequent requisitioning of the Nairnshiro by sue Homo Government, it is announced that a portion o£ the cargo loaded by the Nairnshire was transhipped to the White Star liner Zealandio, which left London on February '2O for Now Zealand ports, and which should reach Auckland early next month. The next steamer to sail from Liverpool will be the chartered steamer Opaiva, which ia due to sail to-day for Auck.and, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. • Should the vessel got awaw as anticipated she should arrive early in May. Mr C. Hales "West, fourth engineer of the Ulimaroa, came ashore at Wellington on Friday. The Commonwealth and Dominion liner Hawke's Bay waa due to sail from Sydney yesterday for Auckland, Napier and. Wellington, being due at the latter port about March 26. Tho Hawke’s Bay is in command of Captain J. E. Compthop, late of tho Nereban-a, Captain F. C. Lidstono having gone on holiday. Under charter to the Union Steam Ship Company, the steamer Hexham left Newcastle on Friday for Lyttelton with about 4000 tons of coal, and, given favourable weather should reach hero about Thursday next. Tho Hexham, which' was formerly known as the Amphion, was built at Campbelitown in 1911, and is now owned by Messrs J-. and A. Brown, Newcastle. She is 2931 tons gross register, 331 ft -tin long, 45ft 4in wide and 22ft deep. Tho New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Turak'ina sailed from Teneriffo on Wednesday last. The vessel is due at Wellington about April 18. Information received in Wellington states that the steamer Largo Law. under charter to tho Shaw, Stvill and Albion Company, passed the Isle of Wight on Thursday. Tho vessel left Wellington on January 12. An expected arrival at Wellington tomorrow is tho E.M.S. Marama from San Francisco direct. It. waa originally intended that the vessel should proceed from the C&morman port direct to Svdney, hut in order to land mails she is-making the call Bt tho northern port. As soon as this is done, tho Marama will Ba il for Sydney to pick up her timetable running. It is stated that the Canterbury Steamship Company s steamer Zephyr, which is due in New Zealand early next month, will run ik four-day servico from southern port* t) Wan™, and a tan davs* timetable from Bluff.
