ANNUAL MEETING
The twenty-sccoud annual meeting of the Canterbury Women's Institute was held on Saturday in tho National Peace Council's rooms, the president (Mrs Wells) being in the chair. The officors or' the preceding year were re-elected. Tho president outlined her plans for the year's business, which included the betterment of conditions for destitute, 1 orphaned and- neglected children, and work in connection with education and with the cost of living. Mrs Howell, as delegate to tho Dominions Overseas Conference, recently held in London, reported on die voik of the British women. In an interview the secretary of tho Internauon il Women's Suffrage Union had rogt otted mat 1..10 New Zealand women wer.} not affiliated with the International Union, ana urged that they should speedily com© into lino with the affiliated w mien's societies of the world. Tito secretary was; instructed _to write to the Sumner Council, asking whether it would be possible to supply water for tho convenience of visitors to tho seaside.
