CHRISTCHURCH. Charles Weston, a second offender, was charged at the Magistrate's Court on Saturday before Mr 11. W. Bishop. S.M., with having been drunk «.n Christmas Evo. Accused, who said that he pleaded guilty in ignorance of the fact that he wis resisting tho constable was fined 40s, or one month's imprisonment. Lambert Emanuel Berggven was charged with stealing from a bedroom in His Lordship's Hotel sundry articles to the value of 12s 6d, the property of Arthur Young, and also with stealing thirteen table knives, valued at 245, -tho property of the proprietor of the Wellington Hotel. Accused, when asked whether he pleaded guilty or not, said that he knew nothing about the articles. On the application of SubInspector M'Kinnon accused was reminded until January 4.
