MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
' OHRI3TCHURCH. At the Magistrate's Court on Thunk day, before Mr H. \V. Bishop, S.M., Robert M'Gregor, a second offender, for drunkenness was tined 10s, with_an. alternative of forty-eight hours im» prisonment. Mary Blue, who had a long record, was convicted and discharged on a charge of drunkenness. Alexander M'Leod /Serimgeour, who had been found drunk in St Asaph Street, was declared to be an habitual inebriate, and ordered to bo detained at Roto Eoa for twelve months. George Jeffrey who pleaded guilty to assaulting Frederick William Arch* hold and John Douglas was fined 20a and costs on eacli charge, with ah alternative of fourteen days imprisonment. For committing an indecent act in Worcester Street John Murray wa< fined 20sj in default seven days' imprisonment. In the case of Catherine Manson v. Vivian Manson, the husband admitted that he had failed to provide for his wife and two children. An order was made granting the wife a separation, the custody or the children, and main* tenance at tho rate of 20s per week. Vivian Manson was charged with stealing £6 in cash, and gold specimens valued at 20s, the property of Jeremiah Geaney. He was remanded to appear at Grey mouth on December 81, bail being allowed in self £IOO and one surety of £IOO. LYTTELTON. : .., At the Lyttelton Magistrate's Court on Thursday, before Mr O. Ferrier, J.P., Georgo Richards, who had been remanded for medical treatment, on a charge of drunkenness, was fined 10*, and ordered to pay 15b medical ex* penses.
