CHRISTCHURCH WORKING MEN’S
CLUB. The final shoot for the shield presented by Mr M. S. Brown to the members of the Christchurch Working- Men’s Club Miniature Rifle Club took place on tho club range on Tuesday night, the conditions being fifteen shots. Following are the scores:— ,
The shield was won by H. G. Hunt, P. Jack second and A. E. Roaanowski third. In announcing the result of the championship Mr Jack, the captain, congratulated Mr Hunt on his brilliant performance, his score, 38 bull’s-eyes out of a possible 39, stamping him ns oue of the best miniature rifle shots in the Dominion. Cheers were given for the champion, whose win was very popular, as he is a hard-workiug secretary. In responding, Mr Hunt paid a high iributo *- Mr Jack’s coaching when first taking up the rifle. J. Kearney, who is also av young shot in the club, won tho oaptain’e medal for the best score off the rifle in B olass, making 267 ont of 280. • Tho ham competition this week resulted in a win for P, Jack, after several ties, with a score of 70. Last week’s tie was won by Mr Prottyjohn. The silver spoon presented by Mr R. C. Bishop for best with handicap, was won by Thompson.
