BELGRADE RE-TAKEN. STORY OF THE BATTLE. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright. LONDON, December 22. Belgrade was recaptured after a desperate struggle. The demoralised Austrians put up a good fight, but the fall of Torlak caused a general cry of “ Sauvo qui peut.” Tho multifarious races commenced fighting to decide who would go first. The Austrians held a bridge which had been thrown across tho Save, enabling the retreat,' though wild and disorganised, to continue. Eventually the Servians destroyed the bridge, causing 100 officers, 10,000 men, 1000 horses and much material to fall into their hands. ALBANIAN POSITION. ROME, December 22. Essad Pasha, ruler of Albania, states that as the Austrians are unable to defeat the Servians it would be highly dangerous for tho Albanians to violate neutrality. RUMANIA’S ATTITUDE. “ Times ” and Sydney " Sun ” Services. LONDON, December 22. Tile professors of the Rumanian universities lmvo presented an address to the French Minister at Bucharest, expressing admiration of and sympathy with France, as the victim of totally unjustified German aggression.
