AMALGAMATED SOCIETY OF RAILWAY SERVANTS.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants Sick Benefit Society was held in the guards’ room on Monday, Mr J. H. Grammer presiding. The animal report stated that the membership was 361, as again 383 at the commencement of the year, and the balance-sheet showed the expenditure as £596 18s 4d, including £389 12s in sick payments and £7O 18s 8d in medical benefits. The receipts were £661 10s 3d. giving a credit balance of £64 11s lid. The report and balance-sheet were adoptedThe following officers were elected: — President, Mr R. A. Burgess; vice-pre-sident, Mr AV. Paget; secretary, Mr H. Chaplin; treasurer, Mr AV. Mullaney; auditors, Messrs A. M’Naughton and H. Stackhouse; sick visitors, Messrs H. L Jackson and J. T. Robbins; trustees, Messrs R. A. Burgess and T. Thin; committee —shops, Messrs J. H. Grammer, A. J. Bentley. G. AVildermoth, H. L. Jackson, J. T. Robbins; goods, Messrs A. M’Naughton, T. Thin, J. H. Johnston; Lyttelton, Mr J Grimson; maintenance, W. Paget (goods and locomotive department representatives to be appointed by the committee). Mr R. A. Burgess presented the pastchairman, Mr J. H. Grammer, with the Society’s medallion for his year of office. Mr Grammer suitably replied. A rote of thanks was passed to tho officers and retiring members of the: committee.
