Entries for the Pioneer Amateur Motor and Sports Chib’s reliability trial and petrol consumption test, on January 1 and 2, will closo at 9 p.m. on December 26.
On Boxing Day the annual sports held by the Halswell Sports Club will take place in tbo Halswell Domain. A variety of novelty events have been included in an interesting programme of events'and a baby show will be feature or the day, as well as a chase for a greasy pig. Owing to the inclement weather on Monday evening tlio date for receiving entries for the carnival in the Graving Dock, Lyttelton, on New Year’s Day has been extended to 5 p.m. to-morrow, and will closo with Mr W. "Johnson’ Deeds Office, Old Government buildings.
