19 REASONS. 1. THOMSONS use only the purest and best fruit juices and iruit extracts, the very finest No. 3 grade cane sugar, while all other ingredients used for different purposes aro the purest and best obtainable in the world. 2. They guarantee that all Cordials, Carbonated Water*, Syrup*, Wines, etc.; bearing their name and trade mark "Purity" on cßpsule and label, contain NO ADULTERATION OR CHEMICALS OF ANY KIND. 3. To guard against any possibility of adulteration, all fruit juices, sugar and other raw material are microscopically and analytically examined in Thomson's analytical laboratory by our Mr J. S. Thomson, F.C.S. (London), before being passed for manufac--1 ture. 4. Tho factory, in which Thomson’s world-renowned drinks are manufactured is the most sanitary and BEST-EQUIPPED SOUTH OF THE .LINE. The. staff are specially trained experts, and aro only selected for special duties. 5. The only water used is irom a boro 2iX>ft below the surface, tapping an artesian crystal spring, and this lovely dear water is preserved in all its nutural purity and freshness throughout the whole process of manufacture. No chemicals or mum have therefore to bo used for the precipitation of suspended or other impurities, bb is the case with creek or reservoir water, ft la also from 16 to 20 degree* cooler than the reservoir or creek water commonly used. 6. Instead of storing their water in wooden tubs, brick, concrete, or iron tanks, which aro open to the dust and tilth of the city, Thomsons store theirs in hermetically-soared tanks, which are porcelain-lined, and absolutely immune from impurity of any kind. The water comes direct from the bore into the bottles, and never at any time comes into contact with tho atmosphere. 7. All Cordials nnd Waters which leave their establishment are manufactured from their artesian orvatal spring. S, All Cordials, Syrups, etc., aro filtered three times before being bottlod. Thu in part accounts ior the well-known brilliancy and sparkle of THOMSON’S Cor dm la and Aerated Water?. . 9. To prevent the possibility of metallic or other contaminations, tho scales used for weighing purposes are manufactured throughout of platcglase. They aro kept in her-metically-scaled glass cases away from the dust and damp of the atmosphere, and are so delicato as to be able to Weigh ono-650th part of a grain. Id. Tho machinery is lined with solid silver, and all pumps are fitted with gliW3 plungers instead of brass, thus preventing tho possibility of motallio contamination. 31. All bottles fl.ro of cloar crystal glass. They are all passed through a strong boiling solution of 35ft of caustic soda for tomin, and aro then thoroughly hand-washed iu a. strong solution of permanganate of potash (no machinery being used for the washing), and then rinsed twice with crystal spring water by a patent process that makes it impossible .for any foreign substance to remain in them. Fresh epring water is used every time for washing and rinsing. 32. No shot machines are used in the washing of Thomson's? bottles, as these always leave a poisonous deposit of acetate of lead. All bottles we thoroughly dried before filling. To put aerated waters into wet bottles is like pouring champagne into a wot glnss. 33. Cheap corks spoil good contents. Thomsons are very particular to get the best. All their corks come from tho famous Catalonia cork forests, and wo first grade. They are also packed iu double bales, which cost more money, but prevents contamination iu transit. , , M. Before being put into (he bottle every cork is oarefnlly selected, and then thoroughly sterilised. 15. To make doubly stive of absolute purity, as well a# to prevent the slightest possibility of deterioration, EVERY BOTTLE IS PASTEURISED after it is hermetically sealed. This ensures PERMANENT GOOD QUALITY and absolute proof against germs. Thomson and Co, are the only cordial manufacturers in tho Dominion who have adopted pasteurisation. . ..... 16. THOMSONS guarantee thoir (Huger Wine to be MATURED IN SEASONED OAK CASKS FOR TWO AND A HALF YEARS before being bottled, and tbeir linenberry Vinegar and Limojuice Cordial to be MATURED IN GLASS FOR AT LEAST SIX MONTHS before being put ou the market. 17. In the manufacture at their Carbonated Waters tho gar, is washed three times through orvatal spring water bolero being used to carbonate tho waters. I;? Thomsons have been awarded 23 SPECIAL GOLD MEDALS Bird 31 FIRST CLASS CERTIFICATES in open competition against the world’s best manufacturers. This is a record for Australasia, and speaks for itself. 13. Finally, “PURITY” is Thomson's trade nmrl; and watchword—from the washing and rinsing to the manufacturing, bottling, corking, labelling, capsuling, and wrapping of the bottles. Result: Tho people of New Zealand nro aupplied with wholesome and refreshin,r summer drinks that cannot be excelled in any part of tho world, and certainly CANNOT BE EQUALLED by anything on the Now Zealand market, whether local or imported.
