REGULATING PRICES.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Referring to your several articles and reports of discussions on tho subject, will you be good enough to answer the following questions:— (1) Assuming that a miller or speculator by luck or foresight is in possession of a quantity of wheat or flour which would yield him a handspme profit if sold at to-day's market price, do you advocato that he should be prevented selling at that price? (2) Assuming, for tho sake of argument, tint you will answer in the affirmative, will you explain by what process of law this could bo effected? (3) Assuming that the public revenue would be increased by about £1 per ton on flour if imported from Australia, do you advocate the removal of said duty? ) (4) If you see some difficulty in answering these questions don't you think it would be advisable to lot well alone and let prices be regulated by the law of supply and demand?—l am, etc., JOSHUA LITTLE.
