There were /present Mesdames Humphreys and Sandstein, Nurse Maude, Miss Heywood, Rev J. L. Mortimer, Dr Sandstein and Messrs K. Matheson, E. W. Relph, T. Kincaid, H., W. Bishop, C. E. Jones, and Kirkpatrick. The following were elected additional members of the Council:—Mesdames Humphreys, Hayes, Harvey, Patterson and Nurse Maude, and Messrs E. W. Relph, T. The Bishop explained to the new members the objects of tho Guild and the important work that was now decided upon. namely, tho building of a now orphanage for boys and girls. He pointed out that they were uow at the most important crisis in the Guild's history. Several excellent suggestions wero made in the room to inaugurate the building scheme, and Mesdames Humphreys," Sandstein, Nurse Maude and Miss Heywood, together with Mr E. W. Relph as adviser, were appointed one sub-committee to consider tho matter, and Messrs H. W. Bishop, T. Kincaid, K. Matheson, C. E. Jones and W. G. Jamieson another committee. Both committees are to report to a general meeting of tho Council to be held on Wednesday, July 29, in the College board-room. Members of the Councd reported having received letters of sympathy and of keen interest in tho movement for providing an up-to-date and commodious orphanage for hoys and girls under the jurisdiction of Anglican authority, . thus removing what has been a causo of extreme sorrow to a number of people, as there has been no accommodation to speak of for children bereft of home and parents.
