WAIRARAPA LADIES' ASSOCIATION. -

[From Our Correspondent.] " MASTERTON, July 17. Tho Wairarapa Ladies' Hockey Association has decided to write to tho Canterbury Ladies' Hockey. Association, asking for a match with the Canterbury representatives to take place at Christchurch. '■''■',

Though Wairarapa holds the champion ladies' shield of New Zealand, the same is at a low ebb this season in Wairarapa. It was at first doubtful whether there would be any competition at all, and for this reason no arrangements were made for the visit of the English ladies to Wairarapa. Two teams have now been got together and will play each other for the Wairarapa championship. The Kia Toa LadiesClub, which for . nine years in succession won the Wairarapa championship and never lost a game, a New Zealand record, has disbanded as it is not able to' get a team together this season. Some of the members are playing with the newly formed Ruahine Club.
