AUCKLAND EAST SEAT. [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, July 13
Mr Gunson, chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, replying to a do--Eutation from the Bible m State Schools league, declined for personal reasons nomination as a candidate for Parliament for the Auckland East seat at next election in the interest of the League.
THE MATAURA SEAT. [From Our Correspondent.] INVERCARGILL, July 13. A large and enthusiastic meeting of the Mataura electorate Liberals, including many representatives from outlying centres, was held at Gore. A number of reports wore given, indicating that there lias been a very strong revulsion of feeling throughout the electorate, and that tile prospects of the Liberal Party regaining the seat at next, election are particularly bright. It was arranged to hold a representative meeting of Mataura electorate Liberals at Mataura early in August, when the final choice of a candidate to contest the seat will be made.
RICCARTON SEAT.
REFORM CANDIDATE SELECTED. A meeting of the Riccavton branch of the Political Reform League was held at Fcndalton last night. Mr J. J. Dougall presided, and about one hundred members were present. Mr Gordon Harper was selected as tho Reform candidate for the Riccarton electorate.
