BRITISH ASSOCIATION IN NEW ZEALAND. MEETING IN CHRISTCHURCH. Tho visit of members of the British Association to New Zealand at the end ol this year was referred to at the I meeting of: the "' Canterbury Philosophical Association last evening., by the president, Dr TV. P. Evans. Ho said that the fixtures for Christchurch, as far as they could be made, at present, were September 7, 8 and 9. It would be gratifying to members of the Institute to know that popular addresses would be given in Christchurch by some of the most eminent scientists in :he world. In addition to the addresses there would be sectional meetings. IJ.e visitors wou.d arrive on a Sunday, b\>&\ in Cnristchurch on the Monday and Tuesday, and leave for Wellington on tho Wednesday. Excursions into the country would bo arranged. Ihcj would be specially . interesting to fchv naturalists amongst the visitors. Probably, after tho trying meetings in Australia, the scientists would welcome an opportunity for a day's work n the, field. Details in that respect would be settled later. .
