TO-DAY'S GAMES
In addition to the large five-a-side tournament at Sydenham Park today, two representative matches, will bo played by Canterbury, the A team against South Canterbury, arid the B team against Ashburton. side matches will commence at 9.30 a.m., when the third, fourth and fifth grade competitions will be run off. I The Senior and Junior matches will be commenced'at 1.30 p.m. Fgr the first time m the history of the "fivc-a-sido tournaments,'" a cup will hs competed for between the Senior I grade's. This cup has been present©* by the defunct Drapers' Club, whiei I disbanded this year on account of in. I sufficient membership. Having a large i surplus in hand, tho club decided to i donate a silver cup to the Canterbury Hockey Association, and as a result of their action the ciip will be.an extra trophy in the tournament. In addition, 'the Canterbury Hockey AssociaI tion is presenting gold pendants to the members of the winning teams:in the I Senior and Junior grades, and silver pendants to the members of the win- ! nine'teams in the third and < fourth grades. '. LADIES' HOCKEY. SIX-A-SIDE TOURNAMENT. The annual six-a-side hockey tournament of the Canterbury Ladies' Hockey I Association will take place to-day at the Polo Grounds,, where seventeen teams will participate in the Senior and Junior competitions. There are seven entries in "the Senior grade, and ten in tho Junior, and the latter games will bully off at 11 a.m.; and the Senior games at 2.30 p.m. After the tournament the presentation of tho Senior and Junior cups will be made. ■ .
