Matsuo was sentenced to three years' imprisonment and was ordered to make restitution of 409,800 yen in connection with the recent naval scandals. Captain Awasaki was sentenced to ono year's imprisonment and ordered to make restitution of 12,500 yen. Suzuki was acquitted.
