RAID IN THE CITY. A CHINAMAsHaRRESTED Yesterday Detectives Ward and Gibson made a raid on a Chinaman's house in Madras Street, between Tuam Street and St Asaph Street, where, ..it was reported, opium was smoked. There were several Chinamen inside, and a search in the house discovered two tins of opium and an opium pipe, lamp and stales. One of the tins contained pure opium, ready to be used. The other tin contained smoked opium, known as "second," being that portion of the drug which had beon scraped off the pipe after use, and was intended to bo used again.
