COUNTRY PRISONS.

TERRACE AND LYTTELTON GAOLS TO BE CLOSED. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, May 23. As soon as the Wackeria jprison is ready the Terrace gaol in Wellington will be closed, and most of the prisoners removed to AY ackeria. This lias 1000 acres of land attached, and the land is being developed as a farm. A small prison in or near Wellington will 1)6 provided with sufficient accommodation only for prisoners awaiting trial. It is also intended to closo Lyttelton prison, and erect another on a more suitable site in the country.
