ROUGH COUNCILS.
AKAROA. The Akaroa Borough Council met on Wednesday; present—the Mayor (Mr B. Armstrong), and Connoillors Leavitt. Yangioni. Walter, Cantrell, Munro and Leete. An application for a license for the Oddfellows’ Hall was held over for one month. On tho application of the f'irp Brigade, a long service medal was E anted to Fireman Pool. The Works unmittee, in its report, recommended that Smith Street should be opened up ■nd graded, and that the toreman’B wages should be increased. The recom- : mendations were approved. ‘i Tho financial statement showed the receipts since last meeting to have been £176 14s 2d. Accounts <presented for payment totalled £265 17s 7d. _ Notice of motion was given ito rescind the oharge for the sale of electrical energy !*t 3d per unit. It was resolved to inj it at the electric light on Daly’s Wharf .} and also to proceed at once with the I work of connecting Grehan Valley i Creek with the reservoir for the elecI trio,
