SELLING EXPLOSIVES.

[Psr Press Association.! WELLINGTON, May 13. At tho Upper Hutt to-day Hazelwood and Co., storekeepers, were prosecuted by tho Customs Department for selling explosives without a license. Defendants pleaded guilty. Mr M'Laurin, who represented the Department., asked for a nominal penalty, and a fine of 5s with costs was inflicted.

A similar cliargo was preferred against Benge and Pratt, in who.se premises tho recent fatal explosion occurred, but, on tho application of counsel, the case was adjourned.
