After visiting friends with his wife .ind children George Cottle, aged twenty-nine, took two sons aged five and three for a walk. A few minutes later he was found in a back lane with his throat cut and the two children dead beside him, their heads almost severed.

Cottle is not expected to live

The wife is unable to givo any cause for the tragedy although she states that her husband had threatened to cut her and the children's throats.
