HAWARDEN A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

MEETING OF GENERAL COMMITTEE. The general committee of the Hawardon Agricultural and Pastoral Association met on Friday, the president (Mr George Arres) being in the chair. It was decided that motions of condolence passed by the Association should he’conveyed to tho relatives of the late Messrs D. D. Macfarlane, W. Maofarlano and Eric Black, and to Mr J. Doak, on the death of his brother. A claim for an award in the special prize for brood mares was deferred until further advice was received from the donors. Tlio interim balance-sheet of the 1914 show showed an approximate credit balance, of £27 17s 6d, the main items being as follows:—Receipts—Subscriptions £72, donations £144 13s, entry fees £196 17s, gate money £27 18s 3d, sundries £43 10s; total £484 18s 3d. Expenditure—Prize moneys £294 7s 3d, officials £42 ss, printing and advertising £45 Is 3d, sundries £74 7s 3d ; total £457 0s 9d. The balance-sheet was adopted. Mr Janies Little, of Dalmeny Park, wrote stating bis intention of presenting a 20-guinea silver cup for competition at tho Society’s show. The offer was accepted with acclamation. The thanks of tho Association were ordered to bo conveyed to all officials and judges of the show, nnd a special vote of thanks was accorded the president, Mr George Aries, for his services. Various recommendations for the improvement of tho show wero referred to the incoming committee. The credit balance of the Society was reported to bo £379 18s.
