Mr Asquith will not introduce legislation during the present session dealing with the recommendations of the Divorce Commission. THE BUDGET DEBATE. MR LLOYD GEORGE’S REPLY TO CRITICISM. LABOUR PARTY AND THE CONSTITUENCIES. (Received Mav. 12, 10.50 p.m.) LONDON, May 12. In the Budget debate, Mr Lloyd George, replying to criticism, announced a reduction of twopence on unearned incomes under £SOO. He twitted the Opposition with blaming him for carrying out Disraeli’s maxim, uttered in 1872, that the first duty of a Minister was to look after tho people’s health. The Chancellor added that the rich and opulent ought to be glad to pay the increase and super taxes as a cheap price to buy off a social revolution. Mr Ramsay MacDonald said that the Liberal Party had insultingly thrown down the gauntlet in North-east Derbyshire, and tho Labour Party was hound to take it up. The party intended to contest every constituency where it had got a hold, undeterred by the conveniences of any party.
